Q: Do I need to bring my child to the workshop? A: While your child is welcome to attend with you, the hands-on practice will be done on mannequin heads with curly hair, which will be provided. This allows you to focus on learning the techniques without worrying about your child's patience or comfort level for the full 4 hours. If your child attends, please ensure they have a quiet activity or are comfortable observing. We will also have a kid-centered area, as well.

Q: What is the format of the workshop? A: The workshop is 4 hours long. The first hour is a foundational session for all participants, covering wash, prep, and detangling. The following three hours are divided into workshops (with breaks,) where you'll spend time at each of our three styling stations (Parts & Puffs, Two-Strand Twists & Ponytails, Cornrows) led by expert stylists.

Q: Who are the instructors? A: Our workshop is led by experienced and passionate hair stylists who specialize in natural curly hair. They are dedicated to providing clear, simple, and encouraging instruction to help you master these techniques.

Q: What materials do I need to bring? A: Just yourself!! All necessary materials for practice, including water spray bottles, wide-tooth combs, styling brushes, hair clips, sectioning tools, mannequin heads with curly hair, and product samples (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, curl cream, gel, oil) will be provided for your use during the workshop.

Q: Will I get to practice the styles myself? A: Absolutely! This is a hands-on workshop. You will have ample opportunity to practice all the techniques and styles on dedicated mannequin heads under the guidance of our instructors.

Q: Do I need any prior hair styling experience? A: No, this workshop is perfect for beginners! Our instructors will start with the basics and guide you through each step.

Q: Will you recommend specific products? A: Yes, our instructors will discuss different product types and recommend accessible and effective products suitable for various curly hair textures. Handouts with product recommendations will also be provided.

Q: Is there an age limit for children attending? A: While children are welcome, please consider that the workshop is 4 hours long and primarily focused on adult learning with mannequin heads. If your child attends, they should be able to occupy themselves quietly during practice times, but we will have an area just for them, as well!
